New Year, New... ?

Here's the plan.

For most of my life, the only way I marked the new year was to party. By the end of my 30s, my annual celebration changed to sitting on my couch with my husband while our kids slept. That was fine for a few years, but as I rounded out into my early 40s, I was ready for something more. I’ve tried a multitude of systems with varying degrees of success. And this year, I’m being the most intentional I ever have been.

Here’s what I’m doing.

  1. 24 in 2024 list inspired by Gretchen Rubin.

  2. A new addition this year, a vision board version of 24 in 24, which has shaped up to be a personal-life-focused tool.

  3. More intentional vision boarding for my professional life.

  4. Display vision boards prominently in my home and day job offices.

  5. Rough quarterly focus setting.

  6. Quarterly, monthly, and possibly weekly goal review.

  7. PEER GROUPS!

I’m sure I’ll continue to evolve this year’s systems as it goes on, but I am so happy to feel like I’m starting on the right foot. I’m curious: do you have a plan for this year? Do you find planning at the beginning of the year helpful or too arbitrary (I used to feel this way, but then I never planned anything!)? I’d love to know and continue to build this beautiful network of women.

Hello!

Hi, I'm Vicky Winkler, founder of Wildly Creative Wellness and living proof that you don't need decades of art training (or a single "talent" gene) to let a paintbrush and a blank page change your day.

This is where I share honest reflections from my own path toward balance, self-care, and contentment. If you're curious about art journaling as a practice for mindful living, or you just need a little nudge toward your own creative spark, you're in the right place.
