Forest Bath

It is here that I stand, leaning against a tree, gently rubbing my hands over the rough bark. I ask if it's ok to hang out here for a while. I am very much enjoying its newly opened, bright green leaves.
"Of course," it says. "It's been so long since anyone other than the squirrels has come this close to me. Not that there's anything wrong with squirrels... but it is nice to have a new visitor once in a while."
I lean my head back; the tree has a perfect angle that allows me to lean comfortably and look up at the tender green leaves. They have an almost neon feeling to them as the light shines through. They're dancing in the breeze, enjoying their first few days.
I close my eyes and breathe in the freshness of the forest. When I feel ready, I push myself off the tree and turn to it. "Thank you."
"Thank you."
A Natural Reflection
I've taken a picture of this experience in my mind's eye. The next time I pick up my paints, I plan on finding some colors that remind me of those vibrant greens. We'll see where they take me!
